Our very own Dr. Walker was honored with the 2017-2018 Outstanding Dissertation Award from the University of Texas at El Paso. UTEP is ranked as an R1 institution (the highest level of research activity). Her work on HIV testing factors amongst women in the Democratic Republic of Congo and building a statistical predictor model earned her this recognition. The combination of her ability to analyze data and her heart of compassion for the ones she serves sets her apart. This is a picture of Dr. Walker (with her husband) being honored by UTEP’s nationally recognized President, Dr. Natalicio. Dr Natalicio has been listed as Time Magazines 100 Most Influential People. We are excited to see how Dr. Walker’s unique gifts of data analysis, research, and compassion will continue to guide Meeting TENTS to impact the world and bring solutions and hope.
